Danny’s hockey career began playing mini-mites for Chatham Youth Hockey before continuing his development with the NJ Devils Youth and North Jersey Avalanche organizations.

Casey went on to become a key contributor during one of the most successful periods in Chatham High School hockey history. In 2011, he and Alex Rauter (NJHSIHHOF Class of 2020) helped lead the Cougars to the NJSIAA Public B State Championship—the first state title in program history.

Over his three-year career at CHS, Casey recorded 83 goals and 68 assists for 151 points, ranking fourth all-time in both goals and points in school history. During his freshman season, he set the program’s freshman single-season goal record and earned the 2008 Morris County Terry Maguire Memorial Award as Rookie of the Year.

During Casey’s junior season, he totaled 38 goals and 30 assists for 68 points while setting the program’s single-season plus/minus record. His performance that season earned First Team All–Public B State Tournament honors, Star-Ledger All-Public Second Team, Star-Ledger Third Team All-State, and Daily Record All-Area First Team recognition.

Casey transferred to Kent School in 2011, where he helped lead the Lions to the 2013 NEPSHIA New England Elite Eight and the 2012 New England Large School Tournament championships. He then played four seasons of NCAA hockey at Babson College, where he appeared in 105 games and contributed to the program’s 2013 ECAC East Conference Championship.

Danny remains active in the hockey community, whether coaching or playing in his local men’s league. He lives in Madison, NJ, with his wife, Ali. They have one son, Daniel (The 5th).
