In 1992-93 the standout defenseman had 26 goals and 22 assists to pace Toms River North to the state title as the team went 22-3-1. The previous year, Toms River North reached the state semifinals. He played his college hockey at Princeton and continued to sparkle on the ice. Acosta helped the Tigers to the 1998 ECAC Championship.
