Joe Walsh was the long time (36 years) Director of Athletics at Seton Hall Prep. During his tenure, Seton Hall Prep hockey won three state championships and nine Gordon Cup Championships. During that time span, he served multiple times as an officer of the NJIHL and was the chairman of the NJSIAA Ice Hockey At Large Selection Committee. He was recognized in 1990 as the Essex County Athletic Director of the Year and in 1991 as the DAANJ NJ State Director of Athletics of the Year.
He is a member of the Seton Hall Prep Athletic Hall of Fame. He retired from his AD position in June 2014 and remains active on a part time basis at Seton Hall Prep.
