Growing up in Weehawken, Frank began his coaching career in a house league in Secaucus in 1981. He moved to Pershing Field in 1987 and started coaching travel hockey with the Jersey City Capitals. That same year, he began his high school coaching career at St. Peter’s Prep—his alma mater. He left in 1991 and later began coaching at Hudson Catholic High School in 1993, where he was teaching history. He remained there for 20 years and was an assistant coach on the 2000 state championship team.

In 2001, Frank took over as head coach and remained with the Hawks for the next 11 years, serving as both head and assistant coach. He stepped down in 2013. In 2015, he became an assistant coach at Xavier High School in Manhattan. He has been with the Knights for the past 11 years and was a member of the coaching staff that won two CHSHL championships—in 2016 and 2018.

Frank coached travel hockey with the Capitals until Pershing Field closed for renovations. He joined the Bayonne Rangers in 1995—where he met his wife, Debbie—and coached there until 2018. In 2022, he returned to coaching travel hockey, back where it all began with the Secaucus Patriots. Secaucus merged with the Cutting Edge King Cobras in 2024, and he has been coaching there for the past two years.

Frank has been a member of the executive board of the New Jersey Youth Hockey League since 1989 and served 21 years as president of the NJYHL (2005–2025). He has been a Congress Representative to USA Hockey from the Atlantic District since 2011. He is a member of the Atlantic Amateur Hockey Association Hall of Fame and was the recipient of the New Jersey Devils Dr. John J. McMullin Service Award to New Jersey Hockey in 2022.

Frank has also been a member of numerous scheduling committees with the NJIHL and other leagues over the years. He has been a teacher at Hudson Catholic High School in Jersey City for 32 years.

Robert Peacock recalls his time playing for Livingston High School from 1975 to 1977 as a period filled with lasting memories, including the vibrant crowds at South Mountain Arena and the strong support from school fans and team families.

During that era, players were only eligible to compete from sophomore through senior year. Over those three seasons, Robert earned NJSHL “A” Division First Team honors—then widely regarded as the equivalent of an All-State selection—highlighting his standing among the state’s top players. As a junior, he was named to the Second Team, and throughout all three years, he also secured a place on the First Team Daily Record Morris County All-Star Team.

In 1977, Robert served as captain of the Livingston squad that captured the Gordon Cup, then considered the ultimate symbol of the top team in New Jersey. That same season, Livingston advanced to the inaugural State Championship game, where they fell in a closely contested 2–1 matchup against Brick at Mennen Arena.

Robert’s leadership extended beyond the ice. As captain of the 1977 Livingston High School tennis team, he led the program to a perfect 37–0 record and a state championship. Over his three-year varsity tennis career, he compiled an outstanding 89–7 record.

Following high school, he continued his athletic career at St. Lawrence University, competing in Division I varsity hockey during his freshman and sophomore years. He also excelled in tennis, playing first singles for St. Lawrence through his graduation in 1981.

After college, he remained deeply involved in the sport, coaching the NJ Colonials AAA team for eight years. He currently serves as an assistant coach alongside his son, Trey, who is the head coach of the NJ Colts AA bantam team.

Marc Johnstone established himself as one of the premier players in Saint Joseph High School hockey history, compiling an outstanding 135 career points (38 goals, 97 assists) from 2012 to 2015. A dynamic and intelligent forward and defenseman, Johnstone’s impact on the ice was matched by his leadership and consistency throughout his career.

During his junior season at Saint Joseph (Metuchen), Johnstone earned Second Team All-Conference and Third Team All–Central Jersey honors, signaling his emergence as one of the area’s top players. He elevated his game during his senior season, leading the Falcons to their fourth consecutive Greater Middlesex County Championship. That season, Johnstone was recognized as Conference Player of the Year, Central Jersey Player of the Year (Home News Tribune), and earned Third Team All-State honors.

Following his standout high school career, Johnstone was drafted by the Chicago Steel of the United States Hockey League (USHL). In his second season, he was named team captain and led the Steel to a Clark Cup Championship, solidifying his reputation as a high-level competitor and leader.

Johnstone continued his success at Sacred Heart University (NCAA Division I), where he starred over four seasons and quickly distinguished himself as a leader. He was named team captain during his sophomore season, an honor that reflected the respect he earned from both teammates and coaches, as well as his strong character and presence both on and off the ice.

Upon completing his college career, Johnstone began his professional journey with the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL. The following season, he signed with the Newfoundland Growlers (ECHL) before advancing to the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League (AHL) during the 2022–23 season.

In July 2023, Johnstone achieved a lifelong dream by signing his first NHL contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins. He was assigned to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins before making his NHL debut on December 8, 2023, against the Florida Panthers.

During the summer of 2025, Johnstone returned to the Toronto Marlies, where he was named an assistant captain, further demonstrating the leadership qualities that have defined his career at every level.

The 1978–79 Brick Township High School hockey team emerged from a golden era of Brick hockey—a period of true dominance between 1972 and 1980 that saw the program appear in seven Gordon Cup Finals (winning five and six State Championships (winning three).

For the Class of ’79, capturing both the Gordon Cup and the State Championship in a single season was the ultimate realization of a lifelong dream. These players grew up in Bricktown watching their local heroes, fueled by the desire to one day celebrate those same victories with their own teammates and friends. This team was built on the ice, rising together through Squirts, Pee Wees, and Midgets, spending their summers at hockey camps and traveling to games together.

Driven by a deep pride for their town and school, the 1978–79 team is extremely proud
to join the prestigious ranks of the Hall of Fame, standing alongside the legendary
teams that came before them and those that will follow.

Rich grew up in Brick Township, playing for the Brick Hockey Club. As a youth, he dreamed of playing for Brick High School. At age 15, he achieved his goal and played there from 1979 to 1982.

During his years with Brick High School, he won a league championship and the Gordon Cup but fell short of capturing the trifecta (the state finals). Brick lost in overtime to Livingston in 1980.

In his junior and senior years, Rich received Second Team All-State honors, and in 1982, he earned First Team All-State Public recognition. Also in his senior year, he ranked second in goals and fourth in overall points in the “A” Division. Brick High School named Rich the Most Valuable Player in 1982.

Rich continued his hockey career at the University of Connecticut from 1982 to 1984 and at Upsala College from 1984 to 1986.

After his collegiate career, he played for two years with the Newark Sabres before starting a rival team, the NJ Tides, based out of Brick Township. The Tides went on to win the league in their inaugural season.

Outside of hockey, Rich enjoys golfing. In his senior year, he won the Shore Conference Golf Championship, shooting an even-par 72.

Rich and his wife, Susan, currently reside in Lyndhurst, NJ, but spend as much time as possible golfing in Florida.

Originally from Oradell, New Jersey, Steve has been a cornerstone of the officiating community for over five decades. He has been a member of the Metropolitan New Jersey/New York NIHOA for 40 years and a member of the New York State BOCES for 43 years.

Steve’s distinguished career includes 25 years as a Division I ECAC college referee, as well as serving as a linesman in the North American League and the American Hockey League (AHL). He also officiated in five National Championships for AHAUS (now USA Hockey).

His journey in the sport began in 1965 playing for the Oradell Rovers in the four-team Bergen/Rockland league, which included teams from Ridgewood, Ramsey, and Rockland County. The league was run by Les Dodson and played at the small Low Tor rink in Haverstraw, New York. In 1967, while still a player, Steve was handed a whistle and asked to help officiate games he wasn't playing in. A goalie by trade, he began calling lines in his playing jersey and goalie skates—once he was taught exactly what "offside" was.

After high school, Steve joined the Tri-State referee association and began officiating high school games in Rockland County in 1971, expanding into New Jersey in 1974. Dedicated to his craft, he attended four referee schools in Canada. He broke new ground as the first Referee-in-Chief for the Northeast Ice Hockey Officials, the Bergen High School league, and the Metropolitan College league.

Though medical issues forced his retirement from on-ice officiating after 46 years, Steve has remained a vital part of the game as a supervisor and evaluator, marking over 50 years of service to the officiating side of hockey. Outside of the rink, Steve was a four-year Division I Lacrosse starter. He is married to his wife, Toni, and they have two sons who followed in his footsteps as referees.

Peter transferred to Paramus Catholic as a sophomore to pursue his passion for hockey. For much of his high school career, he didn’t have the opportunity to play travel hockey—but that changed in his senior year. Through hard work and steady improvement each season, Pete made a remarkable impact.

As a senior, he led the Bergen County Hockey League in scoring as a defenseman, recording 41 points in just 14 league games and finishing with 60 points overall. After earning an All-County honorable mention as a junior, he went on to be named First Team All-State in his senior year.

Following graduation, Pete continued his hockey career at Iona College, where he spent four years as a member of the starting lineup in NCAA Division III ECAC hockey. By the end of his college career, he had become the all-time leading scorer among defensemen at Iona College, earning multiple honors along the way.

After his playing days came to an end, Pete remained deeply connected to the game. For over 30 years, he has coached youth hockey with the NJ Mavericks and North Jersey Avalanche, and he continues to coach to this day—giving back to the sport he loves and helping shape the next generation of players.

Since 2010, Stephen has served as the General Manager/Director of Essex County Codey Arena and has held the position for the past 16 years. He currently serves on the NJIIHL Executive Board and the NJSIAA High School Ice Hockey Committee.

Stephen began his teaching career with the Archdiocese of Newark, where he taught grades 6–8 for 16 years. His coaching career began at West Essex High School (4 years) before moving on to head coaching positions at Morristown High School (2 years), West Orange (4 years), and Verona High School (22 years). Stephen is currently in his third year as the Assistant Varsity Ice Hockey Coach and Director of Hockey Operations at Seton Hall Prep.

In addition to coaching ice hockey, he also coached the Varsity Boys and Girls Tennis teams at Verona for 12 years and the Varsity Boys Tennis team at Seton Hall Prep for 10 years.

In 2009, he was recognized as the Star-Ledger Ice Hockey Coach of the Year, and in 2022, he received the Special Recognition Award from the Essex County Athletic Directors Association in appreciation of his dedication and contributions to Essex County athletes. Throughout his coaching career, he has also earned Essex County Coach of the Year honors in both ice hockey and tennis, Star-Ledger Essex County Coach of the Year, and Conference Coach of the Year honors.

Anthony LoBianco is a dedicated hockey coach, entrepreneur, and family man whose passion for the game has shaped both his professional and personal life. As the head coach at Marist University, he brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and technical knowledge to his program, helping develop student-athletes both on and off the ice. Known for his disciplined yet motivating coaching style, LoBianco has earned recognition as a Level 5-certified coach, reflecting his deep commitment to excellence and continued growth in the sport.

Beyond his role at Marist, LoBianco is the founder and owner of PowerPlay Hockey, a training company focused on skill development and performance enhancement for aspiring players. Through this venture, he has mentored countless athletes, emphasizing fundamentals, work ethic, and confidence.

LoBianco’s hockey journey began during his standout career at Brick High School. As a senior captain, he demonstrated leadership and determination, earning accolades as an All-State and All-Shore player. His offensive talent was evident early on, as he was named Offensive Rookie of the Year. He went on to make history by recording 176 career points, the most ever at Brick Memorial High School, solidifying his legacy as one of the program’s top players.

Off the ice, Anthony is a devoted husband to Taylor LoBianco and a proud father to his son, Anthony Joseph LoBianco. He is also a caring brother to his four sisters—Makayla, Giavonna, Madison, and Alayna—valuing the strong family foundation that has supported him throughout his life. Above all, Anthony’s mother, Brenda, has been his greatest source of support and inspiration, and he has always played the game in honor of her, carrying that motivation with him throughout his career.
